Hoffman Pottery decanter/jug, 17.5cm high, decorated with the moulded image of a swagman and embossed: 'The old Sundowner'. Slip cast Majolica glazed made at the Hoffman Pottery Works in Brunswick, Melbourne, c. 1940.

Port Arthur Pottery lidded tobacco jar, 16.5cm high, decorated with a sprig of grapes and vine on one side and cherries on the other. Wheel-thrown in terracotta by James Price at his Pottery Works at Port Arthur, Tasmania, c. 1888 and inscribed in his hand on the base: Port Arthur Tas--
The collection is devoted to potters and potteries established between 1788 and 1920, and includes pieces from those who continued after 1920 until they closed.
We are also interested in adding further early Australian pottery pieces to the collection by gift, bequest or purchase.
